My name is Christina, but everyone always calls me by my last name, Kishi.  I’ve always been fascinated by the energy of the night sky filled with stars or gentle moonlight. There is so much powerful energy that comes from the universe.  From every star, every planet, every gemstone, each tree, mountain, or the incredible ocean. Each piece is handmade by myself.  A lot of time, love, intention, and gratitude is put into every piece I make. I grew up in surf city, Huntington Beach, CA.  Then moved to Dallas, TX to get a Business Marketing Degree and a Studio Art Minor at SMU.  From there, I felt the mountains calling and moved to Denver, CO.  Recently, I finally made my way back to the ocean, back to California!

 

I had an amazing career at a startup software company, called YourCause (later to become Blackbaud) for 8+ years and while I loved my job and was very successful in my role, I always knew I couldn’t sit behind a computer for the rest of my life.  So I finally decided to quit the corporate world to pursue a more creative path.  It wasn’t easy switching paths and changing directions.  It took a while to figure out where I am going as an artist. I’m still figuring it out!  But it's all part of the creative journey.  I continue to grow and define who I am as a person and as an artist.

 

I was adopted from Japan and my birth given name was Aisa.  I went back to Japan in 2018, the first time I had been back since I was born.  It was there where I discovered the meaning of the name Aisa, meaning love and happiness.  So I hope to share love and happiness through each piece that I create.
